WELCOME TO A NEW ERA!

I would like to welcome everyone ( as if there is a big following or something) to my blog. I decided to base this blog mainly on everyday sports topics, but if I see something in the news world I have a strong opinion about, I will post it. I'm no sports expert by any means, but I do listen to a heavy dose of sports talk radio everyday, so I am at least up to date on the sports world. Hopefully this blog will help keep you up to date as well, while providing a forum to offer your opinion, especially if you do not agree with mine. I am based in my hometown of Houston, Tx, so I am huge fans of all the Houston teams (except the Dynamo since I have zero interest in soccer). So far I am confused about my Rockets. I never seen a team have so many injuries in one season. Tracy McGrady must be contagious, because I'm sure Ron Artest did not have these injury problems before he came to Houston. Tracy just needs to sit down until he is completely healthy before he comes back. I believe we can stay afloat while he's out, and then make a huge push in the second half of the season when everyone gets healthy. The West is stronger than ever, and we to be totally healthy to get pass the likes of Los Angeles, San Antonio, Utah, New Orleans, Phoenix, Denver (who made a great move getting Chancey Billups), and the new scary team on the block, Portland. Notice I left out Dallas (not by accident). The Texans will be a team to be reckoned with next season. They got unlucky with a bad start due to Hurricane Ike pushing them to have to play on the road until Week 5. That's right, I'm blaming Mother Nature for missing the playoffs. That and a terrible defensive scheme that got the defensive coordinator fired. The offense is one of the best in the league, as long as Matt Schaub can say healthy. Maybe he's been hanging out with McGrady too. As far as the Astros go, if they only had to play the second half of the season every year, they would be the best team in all of baseball. The problem is they refuse to play in April, May & June as if it doesn't count. Somebody needs to rip those months out of their calendar so they'll think its July on opening day. The have too much talent to struggle to get 90 wins. Well I hope that gives you some kind of insight to what I'm about and what I'm trying to do. I'm new to this blogging thing and hope I don't get lazy with it and not update it enough. (I have problems with that thing they call focus, check my credit card bills). Thanks and enjoy!!
